NZD/USD Price Outlook: Set for New Rally to 0.6100
The NZD/USD currency pair has reached a six-and-a-half-month high near 0.6030 at the start of the week. The New Zealand Dollar (NZD) is gaining momentum ahead of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand’s (RBNZ) policy meeting scheduled for Wednesday.
Market participants are pricing in a 25 basis points cut in the Official Cash Rate (OCR) from 3.50% to 3.25%. This anticipated monetary easing is contributing to increased volatility but also supporting the Kiwi as traders adjust their expectations.
Additionally, US President Donald Trump’s decision to extend the 50% tariffs on European Union goods to July 9 has added to mixed sentiment around the US Dollar (USD), helping NZD/USD find some upside traction.
Overall, the pair looks poised to test the next resistance level near 0.6100 if the current momentum continues following the RBNZ announcement.
