Bitcoin Could Hit $1.5 Million by 2030, Says Ark’s Cathie Wood

Cathie Wood isn’t backing down from her sky-high Bitcoin forecast. The Ark Invest founder said Bitcoin could reach $1.5 million by 2030, fueled by growing institutional demand and rising adoption across emerging markets.

In Ark’s "Big Ideas 2025" report, Wood outlined several paths for Bitcoin’s future. Her base case puts Bitcoin at $710,000, while even her bear case still sees it climbing to $300,000. Stretch scenarios suggest the crypto could soar as high as $2.4 million over the next five years.

Bitcoin, now trading near $94,000, has already surged more than 1,100% over the past five years. Recent tailwinds — including SEC approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs, Bitcoin’s April 2024 halving, Fed rate cuts, and a pro-crypto push from President Trump — have added fresh momentum.

But hitting $1.5 million won’t be easy. Bitcoin’s market cap would have to eclipse $30 trillion, making it the world’s most valuable asset — ahead of gold’s current $22 trillion market value.

Skeptics also point to Bitcoin’s lingering volatility and its tight link to interest rate policy. Large institutional players may hesitate to boost exposure unless the crypto’s price becomes more stable over time.

Ark’s heavy exposure to Bitcoin through its Ark 21Shares ETF (ARKB) — currently holding around $5 billion — is another reason to take Wood’s bold call with caution.

For now, experts suggest investors tread carefully, building Bitcoin positions slowly through dollar-cost averaging instead of betting on a straight shot to the moon.
