USD/CAD Holds Steady Near 1.3700 as Momentum Fades
The USD/CAD pair is showing minimal movement in Friday’s session, trading around the 1.3700 level. While the Canadian Dollar (CAD) remains among the weaker performers today, the US Dollar (USD) is also losing bullish traction near this technical resistance zone.
USD Momentum Slowing
Despite recent strength in the Greenback, momentum above 1.3700 appears to be fading. Market participants may be reluctant to push the pair significantly higher without new fundamental catalysts such as Federal Reserve guidance or BoC rate signals.
CAD Still Vulnerable
The CAD continues to underperform amid:
- Lower oil prices, weakening a key CAD support
- Broad risk-off sentiment capping appetite for commodity-linked currencies
- Expectations of a neutral to dovish tone from the Bank of Canada in coming weeks
Technical Outlook
- Resistance: 1.3730 / 1.3750
- Support: 1.3640 / 1.3600
- Momentum Indicators: RSI neutral, MACD flattening
