Dollar Strengthens After U.S.-China Trade Talks Progress

The U.S. dollar gained strength after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent revealed significant progress in trade negotiations between the U.S. and China over the weekend in Geneva. The DXY dollar index rose by 0.2%, reaching 100.574.

Markets are now awaiting further details to assess the outcome of the talks and determine whether trade uncertainty and tit-for-tat tariffs have been resolved. While the dollar is currently stronger, Pepperstone strategist Michael Brown cautioned that prevailing uncertainty may still affect its future strength.
